Due to an increase in severe storms in our area, many homeowners are trimming branches or trees away from their homes.
A common scenario is a homeowner goes out and cuts a 10″ diameter pine tree before it potentially falls on the house. Their neighbor comes out screaming that the tree was not his to cut. The neighbor then calls his attorney to discuss damages. The attorney recommends having the property line marked and the stump located by a Land Surveyor. An Arborist is called to determine the value of the tree, which can be very expensive (thousands of dollars).
If both homeowners knew exactly where the property lines were, then the expense and friendship could have been spared.
