$806 Raised for Local Charity

2019 Team Stonewall Surveying

We have completed our sixth successful year with Team Stonewall Surveying in the Barrington Chamber of Commerce Peeper 5k. This event raises money for four college scholarships given out by the Barrington Chamber. This year we have 49 participants with 8 awards won! Jacob Bisson, Elisha Binkman, Stacey Gallant, Keith Teeter, Brenndan Teeter and Mary Ulinski all placed in their divisions. Jonas Teeter placed first in two categories!

The biggest winner is the Barrington Food Pantry. Our team raised $806 and donated 132 pounds of food to the Pantry. $133 was raised on race day. That equals about 2,550 pounds of food for the Pantry to help area residents in need. To date more than $6,100 has been raised for  local charities by Team Stonewall Surveying!

Why the Team? Yes, we could just raise money for the Barrington Food Pantry and not have the Team, but that does not bring awareness to the Food Pantry. Our Team effort allows for more outreach of the need for food pantries. Not just in Barrington, but in every town and city. Anyone can fall on bad times and for them to know there is support out there is huge in helping them get back on their feet. As successful as this Team was, this wouldn’t have happened without our Team sponsors who support the cause of giving back to people in need. Thank you again for your continued support of the Team and the Barrington Food Pantry!

Why am I a Surveyor?

Ray surveying Creek ~ 1992

Ray surveying Creek ~ 1992

I have been screamed at by neighbors, seen property owners fighting, had the police oversee a project so I could complete the job, been chased by dogs, had guns pointed at me, worked in very cold and very hot conditions, shoveled lots of snow, fought my way through briars and prickers, gone through many wetlands and water bodies, found deer poacher’s sites, stomped through poison ivy many times, put up with thousands of bugs, had a frog jump up my pant leg, and must I say ….. snakes! So why am I a Surveyor?

In my time as a surveyor, I have also met hundreds and hundreds of very nice people, and I have enjoyed helping people understand their property. I have resolved issues between squabbling neighbors that now get along, read many interesting deeds, learned a lot of history, seen many beautiful natural sites and historic sites (grave of a civil war solider, old mill, old foundations, etc.), seen plenty of nature like deer and moose, heard hundreds of birds singing, sounds of streams, and I could go on and on.

With every job, there are the good days and the bad. As a Surveyor, I feel I get to enjoy more good days seeing new things and having new experiences than most people. It may not always be glamorous, but around every corner, there is something different!
